Our wars are mostly fought to fund the Defense Industrial Base a.k.a. the Military Industrial Complex because Blackrock has the vast majority of our representatives under control.

We have more than enough oil and natural gas within our country and are not in need of OPEC.

The vast amount of disinformation/propaganda that has formed public opinion is mind-blowing.
The oil market is a global market. The fact that the U.S. could theoretically supply all of of our own oil for an unknown, but finite, amount of time is inconsequential. It's meaningless due to the global nature of oil markets. That's because the cost of oil production varies widely depending on where and how it needs to be extracted and cheaper always wins. When the U.S. burns a barrel of domestic oil, it's still supporting the oil market (that's one barrel that won't be exported).

Or, if we consume oil from a friendly country like Norway, that still supports the oil prices in the Middle East. That's what I mean when I say the oil markets are global in nature. It's the consumption of oil that supports oil producing nations, it doesn't matter if we buy it from the Middle East, Norway or produce it ourselves, the cheapest oil to extract will always have a market, as long as there is demand for oil. Only by curing our economic addiction to oil in general can we fix the problem. Producing more of it domestically just increases supply, which lowers global prices, which increases global demand.

Oil is kinda off the topic of the forum.

The only real changes the US can do is on the margins: Pipelines can make it easier/cheaper to ship oil from Canada or the midwest to abroad. And therefore once the pipeline is built..l instead of being a few cents per gallon cheaper in the center of the US, it becomes a few cents per gallon more expensive.

On the topic of oil, the key realization is that US oil companies are making record profits on a commodity. They should be competing on price for very slim margins, but something is allowing them to raise prices.
Meanwhile, they are pumping more than ever before, and the U.S. is actually exporting more than we import.
Its price fixing that is raising prices, not scarcity.

I suspect the ICE will end up in a niche market with people who grow their own weed or still roll their own cigarettes.
Just LOL at some peoples version of podunk USA.. I roll my own cigarettes and own5 soon to be 6 Teslas with the CyberTruck, Tesla Solar ROOF (not panels), Tesla Power Walls and Wall Connectors Along with SPAN smart panels throughout the home and can be pretty much off grid indefinitely if I wanted, especially once I have the Cyberbeast PowerShare working and all the while charging my Teslas from Solar or batteries when necessary.

”Actually I lied, my machine rolls my cigarettes, I just put the tobacco in and tubes onto the automatic spoon.”
Also, Im no tree hugging hippy nor left wing liberal and in fact endorse Trump although he gets under my skin when mentioning anything negative about EV’s. Just remember politics are all a pony show and truth always comes to light.
