Spoiler alert! IT WAS WET! maybe I am wrong. Story in bullet form below.
- Super muddy so I brought it to the self serve car wash and power jetted the soapy water in all four wheel wells to remove mud.
- Only once did the charge port door open, I avoided getting water in it, but cannot qualify that I was fully successful.
- I only had 8% charge remaining. As planned, I arrived at home and plugged it in with the included AC charger using the dryer outlet attachment (32A).
- Blue color would not flash or transition to flashing green, stayed solid blue. A heavy clunk sound emminated from deep in truck between back wheels and back seat.
- Checked APP, charging rate was auto switched to 5A but not charging. I selected Start Charging. Quick pause, then gave an error saying something like AC charging deactivated.
- Feeling the fear of low charge on a cold night, I went to the nearest supercharger. Same issue but error said schedule service or service required.
- Returned home, tried again, same failure.
- Called for roadside assistance. They had no answers and even said that it does not qualify since it's a low charge issue (my fault?). They did imply that if I was at a supercharger maybe it would qualify?
- I thought it all through, hoped (but. Hated the thought) that maybe something was wet? Went to bed.
- 8 hours later woke up to 3% charge plugged it in and everything was working as usual.
- I frigging love this truck and the FSD, I have nearly 14 K miles on it in 9 months. I am not happy that water can cause a fault like that (maybe I am wrong).
- I will NEVER go under 30% again, just in case this happens again without fixing itself and I have to drive it to the service center.
