I have gone to 18-20 lbs while towing an 8-9000lb camper onto a beach. Works great, no sinking or spinning. I think 20-25lb on rocks at slow speed is ok for me and my style of driving, while driving MY truck but don't do what I do.Low pressure is for traction by increasing contact surface area through tire deformation. You won’t improve compliance that much by lowering pressure and you lose ride height. I can tell you that the Duratrac RT (aka winter package) tire has better compliance maybe because the sidewalls are less stiff.
I see many make the mistake of driving with the suspension set on very high. It reduces the suspension travel and it has about as much traction as a radio flyer.
