Teslaunch is offering a center console cover that they advertise as a "leather center arm rest" and state that it is "premium leather" multiple places. Leather to me means the hide of an animal, usually bovine. Some companies will at least follow in the description with "vegan" or "man made" if the product is plastic.

I have returned multiple products to Amazon that were advertised as leather but were man made. I emailed Teslaunch and they confirmed that their product is not animal leather. Maybe I should be tipped off when the price is low, but leather from some countries is not expensive. A few of these covers have elastic bands holding them in place, and although I asked how this one installs I still don't really know.

Are my expectations unrealistic?

I *HATE* when companies advertise something as Leather or 'Premium Leather' and it's freaking vinyl or plastic. I have returned MANY items over the years and completely agree w/your stance.

Also, good to know. Thanks.

I’ll agree that when someone calls something leather if it isn’t an animal’s skin/hide and they don’t otherwise qualify it then it is straight up intentionally misleading false advertizing and that makes me totally lose respect for the company posting the ad.

Even “vegan leather” is actually a BS euphemism for vinyl, but at least it tells me it isn’t animal hide.

I would like to encourage the companies that are advertizing their products here to do so with honesty and integrity and straightforward ads that make clear what they are selling because they will lose my business if they don’t… permanently. I’ll gladly pay more for a product from a company I know i can trust rather than take a chance on a BS artist company that has proven in the past to be smoke and mirrors.

My two cents. FWIW.

Cheers
