A misunderstanding of a construction zone traffic signal has left me without my CT! Any suggestions or advice on repair and insurance process? Progressive with full coverage. Popped rear tire and rear driver side door won’t open. Dinged up both driver side stainless door panels and all the trim. Lost a cyber wheel cover and may be wheel damage as well. Currently has been towed to local wrecker yard. I’m 100 miles from nearest service center. Tips for a quick resolution? Also, camera didn’t activate and save the incident and I didn’t get it saved (total noob job). Any advice on retrieving that? It is in sentry mode currently, should I turn that off to try and save footage? Or is it lost? Help/stressed! TIA

If you can get access to your vehicle (and it is still operational) you can watch whatever videos it has recorded. Even if you can’t offload them you can record the screen with your phone and send that video to your insurance company. Assuming it helps you.

Beyond that, either close/regular/cordial communication with your claims adjuster or hire an attorney. Hiring an attorney may or may not get you a better result (probably will but you’ll have to share your settlement proceeds with them), but it will in many cases slow you down.

You can wait and see if you like the way things are developing and bring in an attorney later, but there’s a chance that you will screw things up irreparably if you don’t get one in on the front end. It’s always up to you.

If you have the SSD pulled you may also be able to recover the footage.
Because so many panels were involved the repair will likely be significant and there is a chance progressive may total it. Any airbags go off?

That is super unfortunate, just out of curiosity how fast we're you going? You may or may not want to answer that.

Thanks for the suggestion, will consider. Luckily the other driver has been cooperative, I have a pending police report, and the other drivers insurance information. We shall see!

Will pull later today when I go to the wrecker yard to get insurance walk around photos. Neither car had airbags deployed. Thanks!

Haha, I was going the posted speed limit. The other driver thought it was a 4-way stop and came out into the intersection as I was passing through effectively clipping me as she turned into my direction. To her credit, the intersection is under construction converting to a 4 way light controlled intersection, and could be confusing, but the cross traffic currently does have the right of way and no stop signs nor flashing lights.

Definitely grab that hard drive, anything the cameras have caught and saved will be on it.

Thanks! Unfortunately closest is 1:45-2 hr drive to Houston or Austin!
It was a 2 hour drive for us too, but well worth dealing with people who speak Tesla.
Their hourly rate was significantly higher than our local auto body shop, but Allstate paid the higher rate.

Not sure where you'll have better luck, Austin or Houston. My Sierra is at Covert Collision which is one of the only EV certified repair shops in the city. However, I don't know if you'd have alternatives being in a Tesla. Either way, I hope you get a quick and speedy repair!

Having said that, I'm subscribed for updates. I'm really irritated with GM right now as I've been waiting four months for a small body panel to complete repairs on my new Sierra EV. If you can get that fixed in less than 2 months, it may be enough for me to make the switch to the CT. It's ridiculous GM can't produce replacement parts for a production vehicle in less time.
