Wireless Charging not coming to Cybertruck (says lead engineer Wes Morrill)

It's exactly what he's saying. More battery protection = harder to do effective induction charging.

Wireless Charging not coming to Cybertruck (says lead engineer Wes Morrill)

lol, I didn't realize until this moment that sook was local slang to where I live. Decades on this planet talking with people around the world and I never had a dialect moment before. I'm honestly laughing to myself right now, it's a funny moment. I always thought "Sookie" was a funny name...

Wireless Charging not coming to Cybertruck (says lead engineer Wes Morrill)

Those commenting are missing the later part of his statement. The air gap (crumple zone) at the bottom of the pack makes inductive too inefficient, not just the vehicle height. Just raising up a charger still wouldn't get you far. This is a feature that was never promised so I don't know why...

Unreal Engine coming to Cybertruck! Driving Visualizations will be Incredibly Good!

People talking as if they know something, but Unreal Engine can run on Nintendo Switch 1 which has 4 gig ram and 32 gig storage. Cybertruck media processor may not be S/X level, but it has at least 8gig ram and 128 gig storage. If Tesla wants, they can make it work on Cybertruck, as well as...

    Vote for Future Supercharger Locations

No government interference here! It just disappeared, no explanation. Frustrating, because if they put that charger in everywhere I will drive in my life will be covered with existing Cybertruck range. Major dead zone right now.

    Vote for Future Supercharger Locations

No. There is a site that won in '23 in my region and was slated to open in '25. It's no longer slated to open, and it's in the vote again. Very annoying. At least it is once again getting votes. It's a key location that is needed for the western half of my province and a famous coastal...

Reviving the possibilities of onboard battery extender

I fully expect a modest bump in range in future years, like other Tesla models. The 4680s will get more efficient, maybe fit a few more in or whatever. This will likely happen before the install base is big enough to justify a cumbersome extender option. I think we'll see an AWD CT pushing...

Cyber truck versus minivan. Minivan did not fare well.

lmao, the Man Van looked like it was made of butter and ran into a hot knife.

BRICKED less than 60 days in....

The recent poll on this site was shockingly good actually. Something like 95% have had no problems or nothing of significance if I'm remembering correctly. Way better than industry average, especially for a brand new platform.

    Music playlist question

I find Spotify is the best music service. It's free, I think, with ads. I pay for Family Premium so me, the wife and I think her mom can have all features and no ads. It's a subscription that is very much worth it, would be the last one I cancel if I had to pick. I can't speak to the...

What’s REALLY Ruining Your EV Battery // Stop Stressing - The Limiting Factor

-All batteries lose some capacity over time whether you use it or not, so use it! Mileage very little factor in wearing out your battery. -Teslas lose much less battery capacity than other cars. -For batteries like a Cybertruck, keep it plugged in but only charge it beyond 60-70% when you need...

As apolitically as possible, how is Tesla affected by Tariffs?

Actually, since most of the affected countries have significant tariffs on US products, these are mostly leveling the playing field. I don't have a problem with them from a competitive standpoint, and they may help to encourage domestic production and/or dropping foreign tariffs to open more...

As apolitically as possible, how is Tesla affected by Tariffs?

Teslas are CUSMA compliant and most parts are North American made, so for those in North America very little impact. No tariffs on the cars and most parts. The tariff on steel and aluminum is probably hurting them a bit.
