Umm yeah ... and those people "sleeping in their cars" was actually an open tailgate with a pad for their dogs which were in the video.
I did see another video from the "event" where 2 hot girls were having sex on the hood of their F350 which was blocking a BEV spot, Did you miss that one?
She was there, was respectful and honest with her comments. You didn't watch the entire video nor did you read the Twitter thread yet you form opinions based upon nothing but anecdotal data. Yikes!
You don't think?
This is what the nice lady who made the video had to say on Twitter:
" The store was busy, probably because it had just recently opened. There were lots of parking spaces available. In fact, as soon as our car was done charging, we moved to a regular parking spot and then did...
They wouldn't host Supercharges if they had zero motivation. Tesla owners often frequent even cheesy stores during charge time and so are good for business. Also, Tesla owners are mostly gainfully employed or financially able to buy/not steal products hence, good potential customers.
Any...
As I understand it, in these commercial parking lot locations Tesla has an agreement with the host landowner/facility and Tesla builds/owns the Superchargers and all associated hardware. Tesla has the ability to write use rules into their agreement but enforcement would be impossible unless...
If you watch the entire video (I know painful) there were a few Supercharger Stalls open but later it was described as full of ICE vehicles with BEV's waiting and, there were regular non-EV parking spots available. When a person was asked why they did this, the answer was "why not".
Sorry to...
Seeing situations like this causes my blood to boil. While it could be described as a "first world problem", the ignorance/arrogance of these people is beyond comprehension.
Just like with FSD Beta, your example is currently an edge case. But being as the Cybertruck is intended for that specific use case, a big assed battery and/or more L3+ remote chargers are in order. Patience grasshopper. :)
When you have the only comprehensive, fully functional charging network supporting you, EV ownership and road tripping is easy. While greater range is nice, range anxiety is never an issue in a Tesla with a competent pilot.
Yes, like the one in my garage.
I realize I am not the norm (for many reasons :) ) but I daytime charge our Tesla's at most once a week each and my solar generates more than the energy my cars require even when I'm actively charging. Solar and commercial battery storage (Mega Chargers) will...
And a fierce competitor it is. If only Ford could figure out a way to not lose $60K on every BEV they sell. Now I'm not an accountant, but that doesn't seem like a formula for success. They must really love their customers ...
Mostly agree but It's way more than a slick App. It is the very same App that manages the vehicles and solar systems. It is a tool that has tremendous flexibility and gives accurate reports on home, vehicle, grid energy usage. That "slick app" is more important than any claimed advantage by...
The Now You Know Channel guys helped convince me about Tesla with their "It's the Super Chargers Stupid" episode. That is my goto reason I give to people who are interested in a BEV. Home charging is even more important and I have 12.4 kw solar and 2 powerwalls so my home and 2 Tesla's are...
I'm going to check out the Lightship in person next weekend at the Electrify Expo. Considering the price of a good Airstream Travel Trailer, the Lightstream is in the same ballpark and the battery and drive units make it an even more compelling option. My concerns are how the drive unit...
I think Ford is serious about EV's and Farleys recognition of Tesla's dominate position in the EV space was refreshing. Tesla needs real competition and the Cybertrucks success or failure is a big deal. It's the trade off of high margins to influence the investor class, vs affordability that...
That's So Cal for you. In my over 2 years of driving the Model Y I have only experienced 1 full Supercharger location with 2 Tesla's waiting. That was a 16 Charger near a popular restaurant and I simply re-routed to another Supercharger location 12 miles away. California has the best EV charger...
I'm waiting for an audiophile Turntable/preamp with Bluetooth capability for my extensive vinyl collection. That big-assed dash is a perfect place for the Turntable ... although not off road capable. :)
Tesla got zero support from most private institutions and government. By getting Farley to publically "kiss the ring", Tesla gets institutional cred they did not have prior to this announcement and, it's consistent with their mission statement. As a shareholder, this was huge and the markets...
I wonder if that uptime statistic includes the EA 350's that are "open" but throttled back to 50kw charging with no explanation? The EA "system" shows a complete lack of a viable plan e.g. ready fire aim ...
