I was planning to replace my aging M3P with a HW5 S Plaid once available. Now I will be shopping other luxury sedans. This is a bummer, I didn't want to move away from Tesla.

It makes sense Tesla is moving away from vehicles, they have made that mission clear. It is sad though, because I really do like their vehicles.

Anyone have the link to the Taycan forum?

Taycan doesn’t drive itself though. Name one other thing that does.

I bought my 3 when I was at a different stage of life. I want a luxury vehicle now. Going to the auto shows and seeing the other luxury EVs, I will take the luxury over what Tesla has on offer.

That’s fair.

In my view, nothing is more "luxury" than when you can be driven by your own car. That's why I'm super happy with my Tesla and don't desire anything else (even cars with very high pricetags)

I 100% agree with that. Give me a chauffeur in a Hyundai Genesis over a Maybach I drive myself any day.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I'm in the same boat. My Cybertruck was plagued with issues. They're buying it back (and were super great to work with btw). I'm coming to terms that this was my last Tesla vehicle EVER as they're clearly switching away from being an automaker.

It was a fun experience but it taught me Teslas/non-luxury cars aren't for me. I enjoy luxury cars whether they drive themselves or not. I'm going to replace my Cybertruck with a Cadillac Vistiq most likely.

Luckily with NVIDIA, their version of FSD is coming to Mercedes and a lot of other OEMs so we're not long from other automakers having similar self-driving technologies.

Whatever you enjoy man. Your money. I’m in the category of 90 plus percent FSD
Same. I *LOVE* driving my Cybertruck, but out of the last ~1000 miles, 93% have been on FSD. I want to retain the option to drive, but honestly FSD has gotten so good I don't really have to think about it.

Most of those ~1000 miles are suburban driving, btw. Errands to Walgreens, Home Depot, trips to the supermarket, and picking up my daughter from school. I literally use it for everything, not just road trips, because it's much more relaxing than driving myself. Also, my wife prefers it to my driving, so there's that :)

I don't expect the Cybertruck to ever go pure autonomous with no manual control, I don't interpret that to be what Elon was saying. I believe he meant that there is a place in the line-up for a vehicle that is designed to carry items too large for a passenger vehicle, and it would be great if it was also available as part of the autonomous fleet. A truck that can show up on its own on moving day and help you get your couch across town or pickup stuff from that estate sale that you really don't need but your wife thought was cute, haha. Then return back on its own. All from an app, no rental companies or pickup/dropoff hassles to deal with.

Practically everyone needs an occasional truck.

All in the eye of the beholder.
