I think your mile margins will be a little close for comfort based on conditions. These previous vehicles you listed are 340m+, CT is 310 at best if you’re maxing the battery use. If you change to 80%your mileage will be ~ 265-275. Add winter…

Regarding parking, rear wheel steering is great, you feel and maneuver like a sedan, however the footprint of the CT remains large.

Lights are dim, for me, if you are in an area without ample lighting, you sound like you reside in a rural area? There are aftermarket solutions for this if you need however.
Appreciate all the real world info with your CT. Renting for a few days to test the commute is the only solution to move forward with a purchase.

I waited 9 months on the 22 Y long range because I thought having a 333 range would easily make the 250 commute but it rarely would unless perfect weather conditions in the mid south.

I'm assuming using FSD for driving and parking could also help with efficiency?

Any recommendations for the most knowledgeable dealerships in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas or Missouri. Memphis is the closest but terrible with customer service. Wasn't impressed with Nashville. St. Louis was the best of the three.

What is the speed at which you will be traveling over the 250 miles?

I think renting one is the best way to proceed, your velocity is in your favor, however the conditions are less so. Your variables are different. FSD efficiency is comparable to my general commuting efficiency with TACC, so not a significant change there.

130 miles around 50-60mph on 2 or 4 lane rural roads

120 miles on interstate going 70mph just to keep up. I only use heated seats and steering wheel with fan speeds of 1 on heat or AC.

I have always used conservative driving settings on Tesla and Rivian

My R1T makes the commute with ease starting at 340 to 369 depending on how high I charge.

Haven’t charged to 100% before today. 100% says 308 after 13,000 miles. 99% Supercharging as Elon pays my bills, lol.

😆 😂 🤪 😆
My battery currently at 49% shows 159 miles estimated range.

Based on this, estimated 100% range would show 324 miles.

I've got just over 8500 miles in around 10 months of driving

That sounds like it should easily do that range, but I'd definitely test it if possible. As you know, the slower you go, the more range you get. Also, and I know I sound like a broken record, but there's something magically and therapeutic with not touching the steering wheel or pedals at all. I think I'd put up with a 5 minute charge and bathroom break on the way home if needed just for that...

@Lenny 1973, also, see this post by Chuck Cook:

I just finished a three day trip as a Captain on the Airbus A321, including an overnight in Austin the same day Robotaxi was spotted testing driverless. My last day was after seven hours of flight time landing in Orlando around 11 PM, and I still had a 2 1/2 hour drive home to Jacksonville ahead of me. This is a use case where FSD Supervised has changed how I use my vehicle. Previously arriving that late would've meant needing an overnight hotel getting a few hours of sleep, waking up and jumping in the car and driving home the next morning. Driving that late at night was just not safe after a long day of work. With FSD I have no problem getting in the car and letting the Tesla drive me home with my supervision. My reaction time is slower, I'm tired, but that's where this technology really shines. Unsupervised will change the game even more, but for the time being this technology has already changed the way I live and work.
