I have a king cavalier (24lbs) aka smallish - she sits directly on the front or rear seats, no matter, no issue. I did get a center console cover to protect it - works like a top. Getting hair off the 10' dash isn't the most fun but....she's my copilot! She also has a booster seat so she can see out of the windows.

Yes I have a Yorkie, they do not shed hair like the lesser breeds.

Kennel between the folded seat on the floor … should be just enough space fo red medium-ish kennel
