Windshield seals failed… charging for windshield?

Curious if anyone had this same issue… multiple areas of the seals around the windshield has fallen down. I have owned multiple teslas over the years since 2017, used to them showing charges on everything then changing the invoice after diagnosis. Does this invoice make any sense?

Makes perfect sense from a company tracking its own costs. Your invoice shows "Pay Type: Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty 0.00" This just details the "loss" Tesla is taking mostly for their own records. In the rare case that they discover customer incurred damage they can prove, they can use this invoice to show the customer what it is going to cost to fix.

it’s been like 2 years since I been to a service center so I know things have changed. It doesn’t make sense cause they are replacing the failed tail light and few other things that is showing $0 but for the windshield isn’t, it’s showing customer pays.

last page you posted shows it’s all zeroed out. Ask the service center to explain the invoice to add certainty.

I would wait to see if they actually try to charge you. I typically get "charged" in the app and invoice until I pick up my vehicle, then those "charges" are absorbed by the SC.

I ran into this with mine. Message the service team, the correction codes are automatic and dont always default to warranty. Usually they manually change this before sending the invoice. Just dont approve the work order that shows a cost.

yeah I haven’t messaged SC yet, but I’m sure they will correct it. The adhesive fell down and flapping. I’m assuming when they did the cantrail recall. This is a very late Foundation.

It's a wind/ beauty gap seal, not something like water intrusion.

SC said that windshield was ordered out of precaution if the windshield needs to be replaced after inspection by their glass tech next week. I guess I won’t accept the invoice until work is completed.

I would chat with rep in app and ask about invoice total (unless you have already and I missed that). Like I said, I typically see an amount owed until I pick vehicle up. I usually go to Kato Rd. Service Center, down the road from Fremont factory.

When I've had warranty service work done, it almost always showed service repair costs, etc in the preliminary invoice. But I was never actually charged anything. Honestly I don't even think I always approve the estimate repair cost in the app..
