how tall does the unit sit at it's highest point on the front of the truck?

The side mount bracket is about 3.5”. Measuring up from the tip of the cantrail, the light is about 2.5” higher.how tall does the unit sit at it's highest point on the front of the truck?
Especially in Canada, shipping alone is 1/4 of the bar let alone the exchange rate and import feesLooks nice but the $1200 price tag is way out of my budget.
I’m still holding onto hope that maybe one day Tesla will release a UI for third-party light bars, ha haThanks for all the updates......I am still considering this option. Really like all of the lighting options and the DRL is really cool. Also wish it ran through the Tesla UI but nothing is perfect. Think it also looks better than the OEM and I was never big on an accessory stuck to the windshield.
I haven’t had my cantrails replaced yet, was wondering if the lightbar would have to be removed. Driving around 25-30mph on forest roads and hitting a bump is when I noticed the “light bounce”.I literally just re-installed mine yesterday, had removed it for the cant rail recall. It's certainly got a little "play" but the rubber grommet they engineered is pretty good at soaking it up. Never noticed it in the cab before. Just from outside if I purposely try to wiggle it.
I dAnother drawback I came across in the design of the XKGlow bracket is the flex that seems to be a result of how far it extends beyond the mounting point. This has caused the light to bounce a bit when I’ve driven along forest service roads.
I might look into fabbing up some support brackets from my “position 2” crossbar to try and eliminate the flex.

Could you stick some high quality adhesive foam to the bottom of it to cushion it whenever it hits?I haven’t had my cantrails replaced yet, was wondering if the lightbar would have to be removed. Driving around 25-30mph on forest roads and hitting a bump is when I noticed the “light bounce”.
It's not the UI so much as needing to sit on the LIN bus and handle commands. It can be done.I’m still holding onto hope that maybe one day Tesla will release a UI for third-party light bars, ha ha
Definitely worth trying! I wonder how well some would stick to that foam insert.I d

I’m wondering if a layer of silicone would be more beneficial. Greater stability, with enough rebound absorption to mitigate any bounceI d

If your cantrails are on solid why fix something that’s not broke. If you do take it in for that purpose,I would remove the light bar to keep it from getting damaged during the fix.I haven’t had my cantrails replaced yet, was wondering if the lightbar would have to be removed.
