Excuse me sir, have you even seen a CYBERTRUCK?! There is literally no end to the people saying it has "ridiculous aesthetics". I don't know if you realized how silly that comment was when you wrote it. Maybe you were being sarcastic?

Personally I like the CT's looks because it looks like a military vehicle. Big red tags with "EMERGENCY PULL" on them only add to the ridiculous aesthetics that I love.

A few weeks back we happened to be at a restaurant where the local fire crew was having breakfast. They were pretty interested in the truck, gave them the "civilian" tour. BUT then I gave them the first responder tour, showing them the manual door release front and back, and the "first responder disconnect" location under the frunk shroud. They had no clue about most of the things I showed them, fair enough, Cybertrucks are still exceedingly rare as far as vehicle on the road. One of the firefighters was the training coordinator and I provided him a few links to youtube about the doors and HV disconnects. Also, how to pry the side windows out since they don't shatter like normal lam glass. There really is a knowledge gap out there.
I was getting cash at a cash machine that is visible out of the second story window of a local fire station. Before I could complete my transaction and drive off, two firemen rushed down to street level and politely asked me if I would give them a tour of my Cybertruck. They said they didn't know the details specific to the Cybertruck they would need to know in an emergency (and wanted to learn). I let them check it out, showed them the door releases, the high voltage first responder flag in the frunk, etc, and I explained Tesla had a webpage tailored to first responders that would have more comprehensive first responder information. They were very grateful for that info and acted surprised that it even existed.

I let them explore the new wonder and explained many of it's non-safety features while they listened with great attention and follow up questions. After about 15 minutes I told them I had to go, they expressed much gratitude for the tour and knowledge that Tesla had more first-responder information.

Oh, I don't mind the aesthetics of the red "EMERGENCY PULL" ribbon itself, I just think the way it lifts up the rubber liner looks makeshift and a little ghetto, and I know the Tesla detractors would have relentlessly attacked Tesla over releasing it that way. The point was, Tesla is attacked for leaving it concealed, and I know they would have been attacked for exposing it too. You know it's true.

Further, I don't see the need. It looks a little forced. The fact that I know the emergency release is there is good enough for me, but everyone can make that determination for themselves.

Easy fix, tiny bit of paracord and the rubber sits flush now. I agree with the rest of your point, this isn't for everyone, and the odds of it being helpful are 25,000 to 1 (I can find details on at least 2 cases were people were trapped in a CT). Personally I don't want to put anyone close to me against those odds if its life and death.

So now we just need a muster drill to appear on the rear screen for all passengers.

This emergency pull ribbon is unlikely to have solved either of the two cases you mentioned. Some crashes the doors are blocked from opening, and other crashes the occupants are already dead or unconscious, or otherwise incapable of operating an emergency pull. It rarely depends upon the color or text of any included ribbon, it's mostly a matter if the door is damaged to the point it will not open, regardless of the ribbons attached, or the occupant is simple not conscious enough, or does not have the wherewithal, to pull a mechanical release.

The case where an occupant could pull a labeled ribbon, but not the OEM cable, is vanishingly small. Yes, theoretically it could save a life. The reality is it's not 1 in 25,000. Not even close.

I cant claim to know the exact odds, I am just spit balling. Plus there are non-lethal situations where people get stuck in Teslas. According to a search, the current total sales are estimated to be just over 50k, I will round up to 60k.

Cases where its claimed the doors would not open.
1) College kids die after a crash. (pending lawsuit)
2) TX man dies in a burning CT. (pending lawsuit)
3) Woman said husband stuck in CT for 2 hours after power fails (from FB Tesla Cybertruck Owners group)

Those 3 alleged events over ~60k. I am not sure if that is how odds are calculated, but it left me at roughly 1/25,000, with a lot of rounding. The red label doesn't enable the emergency release, it only makes it easier to access and more obvious in a stressful (possibly smoke filled) situation.

Wow…you just pulled that out of you know what, didn’t you?

I vote for a safety video displayed in the back as @CyberGus suggested. Ideally using the same format/flight attendant demonstrators tbat will eventually be used for the starship videos.

Emergency pull cord wouldn't have helped. The Cybertruck was wedged between a stone wall and an oak tree at high speed.

2) TX man dies in a burning CT. (pending lawsuit)
He was so drunk he couldn't keep the Cybertruck on a straight road or get out. Passed out drunk. How is a red ribbon gonna fix that?

He was also in the front seat. Read the title of this thread.

3) Woman said husband stuck in CT for 2 hours after power fails (from FB Tesla Cybertruck Owners group)
Ha-ha. Read the fucking manual!

You are making the mistake of thinking a ribbon is going to change anything. If the doors are smashed close a ribbon not going to change anything. Same if they are too drunk to pull an emergency release. Let the Darwin Awards begin!

Is it the same place the 1 in 25,000 chances of getting stuck in your Cybertruck without a red ribbon was pulled from? :ROFLMAO:

Maybe make the ribbon rainbow colored, it would stand out more, LOL!

I know, we need more cowbell! Tie a cowbell to the end of the ribbon, that will probably save another 1 in 25,000 lives! So we're down to 1 in 12,500! :ROFLMAO:
