I just swapped out the OEM AT tires for BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO3s. I regularly drive to/from Canada and the OEMs are not great in the snow. Also, I wanted something hard-wearing but with the '3 peak' stamp to meet the laws of the over-regulated province in which I often end up. I had All Terrain T/As (KO2s back then) on an FJ years ago and know they are great. The new tires are on the OEM rims.

The tire installer inflated the new KO3s to 50PSI as per the Cybertruck door sticker, but the tires recommend 80PSI. 80 seems crazy high to me, but I expect that 50 is too low for daily city/highway driving. Advice? Should I be at 80 as per the tire sidewall stamp? Would 65 PSI be a good compromise?

Those are the best tire. It’s in my list when these Goodyears are done.

I would ask the place where you got them. My tires on my F350 (about the same weight as Tesla CT) are 80 in the rear, 65 in front. Generally you follow the car manufacturers rating. I would probably stick with 50 unless they tell you otherwise. I said ask because the Teslas have that dampening stuff in their tire which may alter the pressures from a normal tire. I will be interested in what you find out as the KO3 is definitely my next tire.

Also, are you using the aero covers and if so, do they fit?

Thanks for the advice. The KO3s have a pressure vs weight recommendation stamped into the sidewall (80 PSI at [+-] 3300 lbs), and I'm not sure whether that is per axle or vehicle total. The dual motor CT weighs 6600 lbs, so hence my confusion about the recommended PSI.

The place that I got the tires installed is excellent, but mine is the only Cybertruck they have ever dealt with, so I'm not sure they would have solid advice on this. Your F350 comparison strikes me as a good one. 65 PSI is likely the lowest I should be going, but hopefully someone on the forum has direct experience with KO3s on a Cybertruck.

Re aero covers: I haven't put them back on after the KO3 install, but I don't see any reason why they won't work. The problem I have with the covers at this time of year is that the temperature differential is so large between north and south that hauling the covers off to check and adjust tire pressure is a nuisance.

Beauty! Nice looking truck. I'm sure 50 PSI is fine, but I am concerned that they may wear prematurely with a lot of highway driving if they are under-inflated.

I agree that the KO3s look way better than the OEM Goodyears. I was happy to find, though, that the Goodyears were at least lasting a long time. Mine were on track to have a lifespan similar to what one might expect from tires on an ICE vehicle. Unfortunately I parked on a massive screw and, because I had 20K on the tires, (and with all wheel drive) I had to replace all four. (The rear wheel drive Cybertruck variant should be much more economical on tires.)

Thanks! I love the truck. I was curious about the same thing as my family was planning on a road trip to visit some family in Alabama (we live in NH so its a bit of a hike) but with all of the vandalism lately we have postponed the trip. I dont really care about dealing with crazies myself but with the wife and kids in the car, id rather not put them in that kind of situation.

Sad times we are in atm.

FYI the (up to) 80 psi is due to these tires being “E” load range. More plys than a “D” range tire— which is what the stock tires are.

in general, the 50 psi noted on the Cybertruck tire will work. However, if you are hauling lots of weight in the bed, you will need to adjust your pressure up.

There are online air pressure calculators for load weight/ tire pressure….
Page 23 has examples:
https://www.toyotires.com/media/pxcjubjs/application_of_load_inflation_tables_20200723.pdf

I run 40-50 psi on my BFG KO3s on my ICEmobile. But if I’m carrying lots of weight in the bed, i increase tire pressure

So what makes these better than the stock tires and how do they compare pricewise?
I’m relatively uneducated with respect to truck tires.

Honestly, Im no expert when it comes to truck tires. I just know that I live in NH and the stock AWD tires have terrible traction in the snow, so I wanted something that had good snow traction along with looking better haha.

doing some quick searching on this forum I found someone who went into detail about the KO3's and why he suggested them. It was enough to convince me to get them over the Tesla AT's

For pricing, I purchased them direct from my local Tire guys and I paid $1940.00 for them including mount and balance.

Also, quick note, at the time of my purchase there is a rebate for $80 back from BFGoodrich. it's not much but I'll take it!

I'm hesitant to get the KO3's as I have them on my Hummer H2 and I've had nothing but problems with wearing uneven and thousands have had the same issue. Maybe there's been a change since 3 years ago when I got my set? Hummer suspension and shocks have checked out fine. On my Cybertruck the orginal Good Year tires I've driven 33k miles since Feb 2024 and daily have about 1k lbs in the bed (tools). Really happy on the mileage I got out of them and running at 60psi I get about 20 more miles of range than at 50 psi. Still not sure what manufacturer to go with........

Honestly i'll be happy if they wear any better than my last vehicle. I had a 2019 Honda Accord sport (which I actually loved but wanted a truck instead). I am not a very fast driver but that car BLEW through tires. every year I had to replace at least 2 tires due to cupping. Honda said its "just the way that the car is". I had alignments done every year with no fix.

so if these last longer than that i'll be happy.

So is there better snow traction?

Uneven wearing of any tire usually has to do with either under/over inflation or alignment.

https://www.utires.com/articles/front-tires-wear-outside-edge-causes-solutions/

If it’s not alignment, you can usually air up the tire to mfr specs and look at the tire straight on. Is it bulging on the sides? Then air it up. Look closely at the base. Does it look rounded? Take out air.

The nice thing about using tires like KO3s and others that are made for trucks is they are made to run on high torque vehicles (diesels). So they should do really well on the CT. The downside is they will provide a noisier rougher ride. But I’m used to that on my trucks.

I ultimately recommend to try different pressures by what I said above. The Goodyear stock tires have that noise reduction material in it which can affect the pressure required. ie. I am a mountain biker and I use cushcores in my tires which is a foam insert. If you use that, you can drop your air pressure a lot as recommended by cushcore allowing for a more comfy ride. I am purely assuming that the noise material in the Goodyears may possibly have a similar effect to allow 50 psi. So trial and error on the tires is good. Also looking at a similar weighted vehicle may help with a sweet spot. Since my F350 wants 65 in the front where all the weight is, that may be a good starting point for a truck tire.

Take your trip and enjoy the time with your family. You may well get some inappropriate salutes along the way, but you can laugh that off. Not going on your trip would be letting the socialists win. Canadastan did that. Don't let it happen here. You have the best, most advanced vehicle in the world (and now with great tires!). Drive it with pride.
