Out of Spec. reported 243 miles at 70 miles highway speed and 254 miles including the buffer. From 123 KW (100 % charge) used 119 KW it was 244 miles.

The environment was 700 feet elevation optimum temp no much wind nor elevation. Charged the cybertruck to 100 % that took him so long (Kyle claimed 4680 as not efficient at charging).
Efficiency was: 2 miles per KWH

Problems:
1. No one will charge the cybertruck to 100 %
2. No one will drive the cybertruck until it dies.
Problems:
1. The EPA cycle isn't the 70 mph he drove, and in cold weather.
2. People will charge to 100% when they need to. People undercharging the pack is not relevant to the rated range.
3. Driving till it dies or not is once again irrelevant to the rated range. Do you understand how ratings work? If you drive such that you get similar wh/mi power draw, charge to 100%, and drive it until empty that is the rated range, period. Any other different parameters will change the result. Drive it at 30mph and you might get 500 miles of range.

Why are you using an older test in inclement weather? Why are you moving the goalposts from 'no one' to 'but people don't use all the range in a

And apologies for grabbing the first link, and not digging to the timepoint here.

Just accept you were wrong and exaggerating, it happens, it doesn't need to be an ego thing.

You are sitting in a beach town arguing with me about range. When you live in real rugged mountain west where it snows, the wind gets into 40 miles per hour, up and down the hills then you will be on my side. No ego it is a fact of life. I am not driving the cybertruck in Hollywood boulevard. You can have the 240 miles but for me remember it is for me not you, I need more range so that I can get the 240 miles that you are getting NO EGO FACT OF LIVE. yOU JUST DO NOT LIKE IT THAT IS THE TRUTH.

Jethro stated: This IS where we are as real mountain west living. Canyons, mountains, etc...NOT BEACH TOWN.

I NEED the range for towing a trailer AND boondocking power, There are just not many practical sources of power in the Mountain West. I signed up for the extender but hate that it’s in the bed (way not under the back seat) and must be installed/uninstalled at a service center. We are so desperate we are shamefully and reluctantly looking at a generator.
I see the profit motive as a significant factor but not an absolute. The CT did not need several expensive features like 4WS or tri motors. Range/power cavan be a deal breaker for some making the Silverado/Hummer very attractive.
I would give up my extender deposit AND/OR reservation spot for more integrated power.
Thanks to everyoe’s thought on this powerful discussion.

The Beast from your link: Podcast indicated had tail wind in part of the test.
100 % charge till it dies= 304 miles
Efficiency: 2.5 miles per KWH

reiterated by Kyle that no one and no EV is going to run out of juice because we do not. We charge to 80% and down to 20 %.
Problems:
1. No one will charge the cybertruck to 100 % unless driving long distance one time
2. No one will drive the cybertruck until it dies (20%).

Fact: every 200 miles or so if lucky we have to stop.

My spouse says I'm endumbenating an already dumb argument. Take the L, admit you exaggerated. At no point am I arguing that a minority of trucks don't need more range, or that you, yourself, don't need more range. ...You seem to have forgotten that in your goalpost moving...

EXACTLY....That is why Out of spec and others test the real world range and that is why I am telling you my real world range is lower that what some gets because of our area. Thus I need bigger batteries that is all. accept it or not.

1. Tesla reported the range never been EPA tested yet..unless they did now
2. Tesla does not apply new EPA recommended testing...Model Y/#/S/X changes recently to a lower range.
3. My argument that where I live, my driving conditions, my needs are different than you or any others. For the current battery size in the beast I may get 200 miles may be less (not tested yet).

This whole conversation started because I stated that I want more range in the cybertruck. Suddenly everyone is telling me no you do not need it. I am telling you I need it not you need it.

No, you posted this:

I agree that 300 miles is a good number but show me any delivered cybertruck achieved the 300 miles or even close.

This is my real world not a map. This is my backyard not yours. It snows, it hails, it rains, wind up to 40 miles per hour. All I am saying I need more range because if you cannot make it you tow it. Not a beach town.

No it started because you said no CT had done 300 miles of range when in fact they have. I simply pointed out, correctly, that driving in a manner and conditions other than how the range was rated would provide different results. Clearly you need much more than rated range, fine, then reality suggests the CT is not going to work for you.

Oh, hey, it's a light dusting of old snow on grass.

Because that totally represents a large number of truck miles!

Seems like you're continuing to derail the conversation and move the goalposts.

PS with a completely dry road in the background!

I agree you cannot satisfy everyone but Tesla promised me 500 plus miles. I was promised 500 plus miles but will be happy with 400 miles.
How many manufacturers show early prototypes of vehicles? How many of those specs come true?

You go back and watch the Cybertruck reveal.
I have, there wasn't.

There was an indication that the tri-motor would have 500 miles, not the AWD or RWD. And these were not promises. These were only early estimates.

But, that's the past, today is today. It doesn't matter anymore, because you can only get what they got.

I agree that 300 miles is a good number but show me any delivered cybertruck achieved the 300 miles or even close. All cybertruck owners reported much lower range.
Elon is the best entrepreneur and inventor in the world and likes to be the best no question. If someone put in new product to compete with tesla he comes up with new thing. Competition drives his ingenuity. That is what I am saying and sorry my statement above was not clear.
There's been a number that have made it in the ball game. I don't have mine yet, but I expect that it's not hard to make it to 400 miles or even 500 miles.

The early Model 3 had a range of about 310, that same model has gone over 600 miles in a single charge.

Except for the people on this very forum who reported getting 300. Anyone familiar with EV's should know that estimated range is only achieved in certain conditions, especially with Tesla who uses the most positive correction factors for EPA testing.
Take that EV word out. It's ANY vehicle.

Drive an ICE around in the city (where most miles are driven) and let's see if it can meet it's EPA numbers.

YES! Good observation and I hope this is the case. I NEED the range for towing AND boondocking power. There are just not many practical sources of power in the Mountain/desert West. I signed up for the extender but hate it’s in the bed (why not under the back seat) and must be installed/uninstalled by service. We are so desperate we are shamefully and reluctantly looking at a generator!

Thanks to everyone’s thought on this “powerful” discussion.
And in your specific case, the Silverado EV may be a better decision.

But that is how much of your driving? 50%? 5%? 0.5%?

And don't forget that the decent charging rates for the Silverado EV are done on 350kW pedestals. They get scarce out of town. So I'm sure that you will be happy with 2+ hour charging.

I am wondering if they could fit a double stack of 4680 cells in there, if they went to a different bottom lid that is 4 inches deeper. IT seems like the cells would fit int he structural pack that bolts to the truck, just fine. But the bottom lid/skid plate is not quite deep enough. Personally Id rather give up 4 inches of ground clearance than half the bed.
I also dont think we would need a full double layer. 30% to 40% more battery would give the truck the needed range to be a great road trip truck. Maybe not a towing truck, though. Probalby need 80% to 100% more cells for that.
360 miles real highway speed range (roughly 420 EPA), would give roughly 220 miles of range between 20% and 60%, which is the ideal supercharging range. I think with this configuration, you could drive 3 hours at highway speeds, between supercharges. Supercharging that range should only take 15 minutes

Maybe the range extender bolts in place of the skidplate/bottom lid? Maybe they showed us the bed mounted range extender as a diversion. Making the Cybertruck battery pack modularly updateable, would be pretty awesome. A full double stack would only add 3 inches.
No.
