80K for a base work truck that has a 450 mi range. Pass. Or you can pay a hundred grand for a RST. You're better off buying an all-wheel drive Cyber truck and just getting the extended battery. If Range is the only thing you care about.
Why would I pay $96K when I can get the same range for $80K?

At 240 kWh of useable energy, it has a battery twice as large as the Cybertruck. and is EPA rated at 533 Wh/mile vs. the 362 Wh/mile of the longest range Cybertruck. That big battery really impacts the efficiency, making it cost almost as much as an ICE truck to take on trips.

To me, the worse thing is that since GM will be selling it at a large loss, it's not really a viable product and will only be available in limited quantities.
Good luck getting 362 wh/mile in a Cybertruck.

Bull! Both trucks are getting about 460-470 wh/mile real world. The bigger battery will hurt some from a weight perspective, but not that much. It gives you a lot more capability for truck stuff. BTW I think you meant to say the Silverado has the battery the Cybertruck should have had…

On the other. GM will be GM. They can be successful if they get out of their own way.

It looks like a toy when compared to the CyberTruck's steel exterior ?‍♂
I prefer specs over hard shell. I would have preferred Tesla put their effort into battery instead of stainless steel.

I had updated this information yesterday as the InsideEVs article was well written and organized too.

Let's give a Detroit company it's due, The absolute worst mileage in the pickup category. Below 2 miles/kWh is nothing to be proud. And the Cybertruck with Range Extender gets a better range.

Now to see Either if there is a price surprise or if Chevy is going to subsidize half the truck's cost.

It's going to cost 30% more per mile to operate than the Cybertruck!

The 80K Chevy is a work truck. I don't know if you ever driven to work truck but they are extremely bare bones and not a premium vehicle. Cyber truck is far from bare bones.
I don’t need luxury. I need to pull my camper 200 miles down the road without stopping to charge.

seems a spec you can’t really dog on/compare in a meaningful way unless/until you have an example of a vehicle with a 200kWh pack that does materially better

nothing for free, only trade-offs

For that matter, this is the sort of hubris that has a lot of Cybertruck fanbois receding into shadows or exercise their max cognitive dissonance these days: may want to wait and see how the Range Extender effects CT efficiency before pulling trigger on quips fired at other OEMs

spell out the two trims you’re contrasting?

do you have a GM fleet account?
I don’t have a fleet account. The WT will eventually be available to retail customers. Just like the Cybertruck range extender will eventually be available to customers.

I agree the Cybertruck is more luxury than the WT. Is it worth $16K. Maybe/maybe not, but I don’t get the choice with the Cybertruck.

ok, so you ARE comparing apples to oranges

the $77K (starting price) 4WT is a fleet-only work truck that is their long range, highest, fleet trim. There will be cheaper fleet trucks with less range.

the retail version, RSR, that is their long range version will start at $105K. There will be cheaper retail trucks with less range.

so, to get a long range Chevy truck, you will be paying at least $105K, and you will be getting ‘luxury’

Sure I can compare. Just like I compare the vast number of pickups on the road today being used as commute vehicles or car haulers compared against the much more energy efficient SUVs or cars.
The number of pickups that are used as work vehicles isn't that big.

Real world data is always better. Cybertruck ~460 wh/mile, Silverado ~475 wh/mile. 3.2% more per mile. Not 30%

Start adding on the options and get back with us when you pass $16k of options.

GM vehicles are known to have electrical issues for the past 50 years and now they're making EVs... I'm staying far away..
My sister-in-law just got a Chevy EUV a few weeks ago and it's left her stranded and been towed to back to the dealer twice because it would not go anywhere. They said it's because if you shift in to reverse too quickly it breaks.... she's looking at the lemon law because she knows it will have to be towed in again soon...... so hard pass on Chevy electric anything. I could probably do a Ford Lightning though, if the range was excellent. Ford makes good trucks.
