Anybody see a Cyberlandr camper in the wild in or around Austin?

Not yet. I wouldn't expect one till at least after the first CTs are getting delivered to customers. They will need to get precise measurements of the shipping CT before they can finalize their product.

The overhang and narrower bed of the production Cybertruck will doom this before it starts. It never was practical to begin with but those changes are going to be hard to overcome.

"doom", "never", "hard"
Very encouraging, you would think you could have been an asset to the development team.

How could they be out and about without Cybertruck?
They could be building lots of designs on different sizes and shapes for different vehicles.

Some engineering organizations do this, and being a "design factory" specializing in a certain class of prodict is a posture that can work really well in some circumstances.

For instance, I have a half-ton truck already that can carry a lightweight truck camper. And I insist on a lightweight one, because I'd love to be able to camp and tow a sailplane. The current options that fit my truck cost as much the sailplane, and I have to use the good math to see what I can still tow without exceeding the truck's cargo limit.

If the Cybercamper folks were serious, they could be building and selling Cybercampers in many shapes and sizes now for vehicles which are on sale now.

This is exactly what cyberlandr are doing. They're building the Prototype refining the design and just waiting for final bed specifications. And they're vision for the product goes way beyond a camper for trucks on this planet. They were recently joined by Joe Justice, of Agile development Fame, who has worked for Tesla and Toyota and many other manufacturers to develop efficient manufacturing processes. Their vision is to ultimately create housing that can be used on Mars.

Not all trucks have it as an option. Which was the point.

There are several orders of magnitude more GMC Sierras on the road with tonneau covers installed than Cybertrucks.

There is a couple of orders of mangnitude more Rivian R1Ts.with factory integrated roll-up tonneau covers out there than there are Cybertrucks.

The total addressable market for a Cyberlandr on a conventional truck is *much* bigger than the Cybertruck market, at least today.

I hope this changes, of course, and the Cybertruck is wildly popular -- because replacing inefficient pickup trucks with EVs is a good thing for all involved. But Tesla's Cybertruck sales taking off hasn't happened yet. Hopefully Tesla can make the most of their 4th-mover advantage in the EV pickup space.

Anyway, the point is that Cyberlandr could be a post-revenue startup, if they were agile enough and motivated enough to do so. And they'd be smart to target multiple pickup trucks.

Still cheering for Tesla and the Cybertruck, of course. I just don't put Tesla up on a pedestal anymore.

With the overhang on the roof into the bed the whole space is 8-10" less. If the bed is a full 6.5' (big if) that means the sleeping position would be well under 6'. There will have to be a slider over the roof or sleeping would need to be at floor level and the lower section of the box extend under the overhang. And the 6.5' bed measurement was only the bottom 4-6 inches of the floor. The rear wall is slanted back a bit above that height. And don't get me started on the less than tailgate width toilet room.

What is your problem today?

That would require more money. And not the money they've already gotten.

Not a single Sierra is BEV, either.

I have my product development hat on.

If Cyberlandr wants to build a business selling campers, they should build a business selling campers.

They don't have to wait for the Cybertruck to be released to build their business.
