it was so simple, amazed I missed it when splicing in the ground wire to frame.

it was the reverse light wire. My Scamp doesn’t have reverse lights. The wire terminated just inside the wall, went nowhere with no complete circuit.

I purchased a small led light, wired it in and TADA!!!!

I did replace my 7 pin pig tail. As discussed outlived the average lifespan.

Now I need a camping trip, hmmm where to go.

Thanks
So the icon was red when in drive and not using non-existant reverse lights and blue when in reverse with the non-existant lights not working???

Crazy!

You mean that the Cybertruck determined that the lights were miswired and correctly indicated that the reverse lights weren't working?

Smarter than your average bear!

I mean it complained about lights that weren't needed in the current driving mode, but acted happy when in the mode that would jave used them.
Seems backwards.
Either always display red when reverse lights aren't detected or display red when in reverse. Instead, it displayed red when in drive.
Also makes me curious how it determines whether the 4 or 7 pin connector is being used. Guessing load on brake controller and/or aux 12V. If so, a 7 pin trailer with surge brakes and no battery wouldn't get a reverse lamp check.

Uh, I'm pretty sure that brake and backup lights are required period.
So much nicer to be told before you run someone over.

Right?! Totally weird.
Apologies for the long delay in posts.

I found my trailer light issues!
1 - cheap led side markers
2 - leds require resistance e-trailer sells a 7 pin adapter!

I replaced a 4 side markers after months of chasing possible bad wires, I did find 2 the mfg gouged and taped. Then looking at the marker lights I originally put in, the wires were just too cheap, no meat and resistance testing showed 3 of the 4 to not be passing quality.

so if you are pulling a trailer with LEDS get the 7 pin adapter for just under $40 at E-Trailer.

if I had more time I probably would of figured this all out 6 months ago. Gladly I only had to tow during daylight hrs. Brake lights and turn signals always worked.

1 step closer to retirement and full time traveling!
Thanks for your patience.

Hi again!
So adding the backup light ended up not being the fix?
