10,000 miles and the off gassing continues to plague the truck. The windshield is cleaned constantly, yet the camera area is inaccessible. Now that this spot is fogged up, if the light hits it just right, the wiper will come on. Lovely…. Anyone else experiencing this?

Think that happened to me today when coming home. I’ve had terrible off gassing and always leave open windows when riding and have been cleaning the windshield every week. But that explains why the wiper randomly will go on…

hoping that we can get a solution for this, will be a slight issue in the long term I think.

it never occurred to me that the off gassing might be happening inside the camera module. I assumed it was fairly well sealed. but I do get phantom dirty windshields that result in the wipers going off in good weather. same with all my other teslas...so I didn't think much of it on the ct.

Do you guys live in humid climate? Those are supposed to be sealed against the windshield. Condensation in that area is concerning. Id keep a close eye on it

Let's separate two issues.

Off-gassing and inadvertent wiper swipes are two different things.

Most all Teslas have inadvertent wiper swipes.

Off-gassing? Leave the windows down and let it out. Once I initially cleaned the window, there seems to have been very little additional window buildup.

Thats an issue in all camera cars. In our Model 3, there is a procedure for removing the camera cover and cleaning the windshield. I've had to do it a couple times. And we've had our windshield replaced a couple times due to rock strikes.

Its not as simple in the cybertruck through.

My model S plaid is 3 years old and does not have that issue.

I’m 3 weeks old on cyber and already have massive buildup in there..

True that.

I cleaned deeply within a few days with dish soap and always leave my windows opened and it has slowed. But had to do it again recently. Only 3 weeks old ?

Off-gassing in our CT was pretty heavy when we accepted delivery. I was having to clean the interior windshield every third day. After 90 days now the interior has stopped however the bed and sub-bed storage area continue to the point I can't hardly stand it when I place something in the bed. The lower storage area is the worst and I need to leave it open for a couple months. Perhaps by October it will be done. Tesla gave me a spray can of Invisible Window Cleaner. That is the best stuff to clean off the interior windows. BTW I hate the amount of reach needed for the windshield cleaning, but microfibre cloths rubber banded on a small broom do a great job without having to purchase another auxiliary tool. I use the broom in the bed and interior floors.

A Cybertruck windshield replacement looks like a PITA.
I am about to pick up my CT today for a replacement windshield, I will ask them how it went...

Got it replaced under warranty, mine had odd ripples right in my line of sight. An imperfection in the glass itself, this was their first ever CT windshield replacement and I was the guinea pig haha.

My CT is totally wild. Kept outdoors. If I leave my windows open it would rain inside. So I leave them closed.

It shouldn't be any different than the cars, just bigger.

Well if it is the same as a Model T why don’t I have off gassing in my new MY? I believe they used different materials. Especially in the bed where the off gassing has been the worst
