Cyber Beast... a wife and a 7 year old, looking to do casual camping in Cyber truck. No off roading, most likely RV parks and safe areas only (as Wife is not a big fan of camping but willing to do it for son...and me)
North West Arkansas - most likely in the fall when it's cooled off a bit.

I don't like the roof top tents as I want to maintain the lines of the Cybertruck when not in use, so I have no problem getting the Cybertent (even at 3k). that way it looks the same when its all folded down. I also don't like the look of what I have seen so far for pop up tents in the back as the ones I have seen look disjointed. It would also need to be on some sort of raised bed like the cybertent, so I can keep the storage area underneath and not have to take everything out when tent is up

What I am looking for is advice on the following to finish out the setup (with links if possible)

1) Mattress to fit in the Cybertent
2) Small Air conditioner to run in tent on CT rear power
3) Best Temp tailgate ladder/steps (as my wife is vertically challenged)

If not using Cybertent
4) Best option for having a raised platform... ideally using mounts on the L-track, with cross bars to support and a fold out hard platform
5) best option for a pop up tent to go on platform

I plan on just using a cooler with Ice as a fridge for the 2 days we will be away (initially) - maybe later we may start extending trips
For cooking keeping it simple and nothing fancy, I am just going to take an electric flat top griddle, small microwave, electric kettle.

and advice on anything else I have not considered.

Thanks All in advance

Why not just a standalone tent?

They have the advantage that you don't have to strike camp just to go somewhere.

That advantage is why you see people in motorhomes hauling vehicles. Motorhomes can't easily be moved after setup.

Good question.....
- Wife likes the idea of being off the ground.... she just thinks it's more secure
- No plan to move around once at site.

The roof top tent can be set up or packed away in just 30 seconds. Check out how @beardedTesla and @TesLatino took our rack all the way to the Arctic Circle!

Yes, sure. But I dare say that's from a tent that is already prepped to close.

Or, the bad of chips that I keep in the tent to snack on would be worthless when I open it back up.
There's often a lot of things that people keep in their tent's (lights. sleeping bags) that have to be stowed before stowing the tent.

Quite often, people put their belongings in the tent when they are away, just so they aren't as visible.

And specifically, I'm talking about camping, not overnighting.

You're absolutely right. There's a big difference between camping and a long weekend of 'glamping' with all your cooking appliances—it definitely calls for more bed space!

I have the Cybertent and have used it a handful of times for camping with my wife. We opted for the Cybertent for some of the same reasons you have stated, but primarily because we can keep it in the truck and it doesn't really impact our cargo capacity significantly, nor do we take any kind of range hit for having a roof top tent sticking up and catching air. Here are the things we use for the questions you've asked.

1. Mattress setup. The built-in mat in the Cybertent is not super comfortable, but would work in a pinch. We tried a 10" mattress and it was WAY too bulky. The items below we've used a few times now and it made things significantly more comfortable without taking up too much space when in use or when packed away.

2. Air conditioning
- I worked with Campstream on a product for the Cybertruck. It hasn't come to market yet, which doesn't really help you in the near-term, but it made camping SO much more comfortable in the hot Texas spring and summer.

3. We tried a couple of step stools, but they were all too flimsy or didn't offer a very stable surface for stepping out onto. I most recently purchased this one and it has been pretty nice.

I live in Dallas currently, but frequently come up to NWA (I'll be there later this week) if you ever have questions or want to see any of these things in person.

Thank you so much for the information
Would love to meet up if you are close as I have only seen a cyber tent in images and videos. would be great to see one in person before pulling the trigger (once they are back in stock). I will DM you details to see if it fits us both

If you use BLOCK ice in a cooler it will last about a week or more... You can 'slice' it into a few pieces to make it fit around things if needed...

But if your wife is THAT vertically challenged, perhaps a tent on the ground would be better... MUCH CHEAPER too! Could use the extra money to get a good sized tent, some lanterns, portable AC and a bunch of other stuff too!
