They recommend taking the flaps in front of the tires off when off-roading. I believe there is something in the user's manual about it.

Yeah they call out the front tires specifically which are pretty easy...
And then you may end up needing to replace the rear ones, if you didn't take the 40 minutes to pull them ahead of time...
