In this video we review the Hansshow Cybertruck digital rearview mirror in-depth - including 5 reasons to get it, going over all of the settings, how to do a firmware update, and more.

Five reasons to get the Hansshow rear view mirror -

1. Tonneau closed - when the tonneau is closed we can now see in the back
2. View bed - placing the back camera on the roof gives us a wider angle and allows us to see the bed as well.
3. Blinker On - when the blinker is on, we can now see the back.
4. Dashcam - add an SD card and back and the front and back cameras are backup cameras to Sentry Mode, when the USB is corrupted.
5. Backup cameras - another angle for a better view and if the truck's front or back cameras are dirty/blocked.

Here's the timeline -

00:01 Introduction
00:39 How the standard rear view mirror is unusable when the Cybertruck tonneau is closed
03:11 FIVE reasons to get the Hansshow Cybertruck digital rear view mirror!
03:58 Initial rear view mirror impressions, how to use it, and back camera location
07:42 Covering ALL settings, including front and back cameras, how to record and view photos and video, brightness, and more
14:36 How to download the latest firmware and how to prepare the SD card for the upgrade
17:05 How to upgrade the rear view mirror firmware to get the latest features
19:11 Feature: when the blinker is on, we can now see the back!

Really wish the CT came with this from the factory.
Would buy the Hansshow one if either the price were lower, or the install was easier. Currently both are a bit more of a painpoint than just dealing with the current factory option.

Did you consider mounting both cameras rearward? One up top like you have it and on lower to be able to see the road or a hitch? Or prefer the factory camera for the low angle?

I agree, the CT should come with this from the factory.

Yeah the factory camera for the low angle is good enough.

I thought it’d be better to have fault tolerance for both the front and back, in case something is screwy with the Sentry Mode USB or the factory cameras.

Not a bad idea to have a backup front/rear camera I suppose, two views of a front crash or rear-end would be pretty significant.
Hopefully they can get the price down on these cameras, or the install streamlined, one is not a deal breaker, but both combined is a bit rough.
Nice video

With the discount code it is under 3 bills, that works for me! I already tapped the mirror power for a radar detector, need to make sure I can splice in and not pull too many amps and cause a fault. Once that is confirmed I am in! Thanks for the post.

Yeah, the backup dashcams could come in really handy. I also really like the mirror when my blinker is on - I'm mostly on FSD but it's great to alway be able to look at the back camera.

I would love too if I ever hear from their tech support. Emailed and chatted asking how many amps this pulls to make sure not to overload the circuit with my radar detector. No response yet, even on the live chat where they "respond in minutes."

That usually is an indication of their product streams quality/availability for these vendors and their newly released items. Seems simple to at least monitor their email address(s)...

There’s a specs table at https://hansshow.biz/3ChZiu7 that says -

Operating voltage: 12V+/-0.2V, 1A (MAX 15.5V)

So it looks like 1A, but variable voltage.

Luckily I got an answer here! I logged in again this morning and the online chat said they were online, that they usually reply within a few minutes. Several hours later, the chat window was updated with a note to email them and a link to FAQ articles- which ended in an empty page.

I think your point is well taken. I usually only need tech support during an install but if there is no support, I am stuck with a half completed project for days.

The rear camera mount superior in the rain too. Better than staring out a wet rear window or the factory camera on the tail gate.
System update went ok via my MacBook. I've had put a 128GB stick in this inadvertently, and I think they mention a max of 64GB. 128GB still worked, but I think it was formatting it to 24GB using their "Format TF Card" option. That would cause issues down the line so I would not go over 64GB.

I snaked the video cable safely over the airbags and fished it up thru the b-pillar to the 48V Grommet for the light bar on the roof. Fished the cable thru the existing grommet and down the roof to the back so it's all 100% sealed up and none of that weather stripping action out the door or obstructing the side curtain airbags. Used a nylon line for snaking things.

I used CraftCloud to order the 3D Printed housing via Thingverse. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6849986 so fairly in expensive. I had my camera sitting on the shelf for months as I was not super happy with the install, but after lookin at all the options found a path forward. Wrapped it lastly with XPEL Armor to match what I had already put on the sails back there to cut down on scratches. Seemed cooler than trying to paint it.

Great point, I've experienced the same with drops hiding parts of the built-in camera, while the rear camera mount works great.

That made all the difference getting the wire outside the truck for me.
