NEWS (per @sawyermerritt):

Lake Alfred, Florida Fire Department has purchased a Cybertruck to operate as a brush truck.

It’ll be equipped with a 150-gallon water tank to support firefighting. The Cybertruck will save the department $170k vs a traditional gas brush truck (which costs $300k). The Cybertruck will also used as a command vehicle.

This will the first Cybertruck brush truck in the United States. The fire chief owns a Tesla himself, which played into the decision to buy the Cybertruck for $131k for the department. The truck will be upfit by UPfit, a division of @Unpluggedperformance

Note: this render is from @Unpluggedperformance and it is something that they can build, but that won’t be Lake Alred fire department’s spec).

Having an aimable water cannon with 200 gallons of water would be great at Summer Beach Parties! Even if it was just a gentle cooling spray.

They say it will cost $131K. I'm surprised the upfitting charge would be $50K but I hope they didn't splurge on the Beast! That would be irresponsible use of the taxpayer's money.

Per Grok, "...This is noted as the first Cybertruck used by a fire department in the US, and it saves around $170k compared to a traditional gas-powered brush truck (which can run near $300k).
...It is not the Cyberbeast variant. Reports consistently describe it as a standard 2025 Tesla Cybertruck (likely the AWD model)..."
