WOW, I didn't know they were that expensive!! Oh well, I guess if I really feel the need for air conditioning I can always buy a small air conditioner for about $250 or so and just plug it into the A/C outlet in the back...

It’s not that simple, unless your able to make an exhaust outlet for the AC to vent outside the tonneau, it won’t be efficient

Yeah, I figured that I would just plug it in 'outside' (maybe under the truck) and run a hose... Either that or make a 'frame' for one (wood) that goes across the back of the truck at the tailgate with the a/c installed so the back is pointed outwards...

I tried 'capturing' air from inside already, but it's not very efficient... Maybe if I had it grabbing from all the vents it may have been better, but who knows...

Won't likely have a 'need' for it so much anyway, only when camping and that's only about once per month at most...

I’ve tried it with the EcoFlow wave 2 (5,100BTU). It will probably work for milder temps. However in the desert heat like vegas, the metal tonneau cover is not insulated, and with the dark color absorbing the heat, it wasn’t enough to cool the bed to a safe temperature. Maybe something with higher BTUs such as 10k or 12k to make up for the efficiency loss.
