Of course, I heard about this from my state fire unit, they have an advisory about the smoke for the hundred or so people who live in the area. It's very sparsely populated, being in the middle of an estuary.

Any bets it's another transformer fire, and not a Tesla component? We might not know for months.

MOSS is a multi-vendor battery installation with many players. So politics first, while they point fingers.

PG&E operates the facility and says the pack that burned was a Tesla one.

That's really the entire article.

PS, Hwy 1 at Moss Landing isn't iconic. It's a rural industrial two-lane limited access roadway.

Ok Crissa, we know how the blame game works, but what did you plug into the grid this time? ? ? ?

Hey, my power was fine!

In fact, these storage units are a major reason the California grid never did have to issue any brownouts during the unprecendentedly long heat wave the first half of this month.

It's so iconic, I had to google Moss Landing to know where it was, even though I'm just 3 hours south.

And I have even driven past it at least once!

And because of the old power plant, you can see it from 20-40 miles away.
