Is the gap on one side because of the rubber seal is uneven? Is there a way to seal it with like tape on the inside?

Really depends on what gauge the wire is... Even then, I would not do 48A on a 50A breaker over a long period of time. The breaker will slowly melt. The safest long term solution IMO would be to drop it down to 32A on the app or in your Tesla directly.

On the same vein of thought, would there be a benefit to passivating your SS and then doing a ceramic coat on top of that? Or unnecessary?
