  1. Cybertruck hits 500kW charging speed with just unveiled V4 Cabinet!

Yes though I have (and Kyle Tested on the 70 mph test) the 2024 Gen 1.5 dual motor which still had the 131 kwh large battery but picked up some efficiency gains and came in with 352 miles EPA range. Now with the smaller "large" pack on the Gen 2 it is rated at 330 and the max is at 420. The...
  2. Cybertruck hits 500kW charging speed with just unveiled V4 Cabinet!

Noting that the 2024 model DM, Large on 21" wheels gets a 70mph range test of 345 mph so with no improvement on the charging curve from 2023 (which is incorrect, there have been gains) would look like this And with Silverado for good measure.
  3. CT Supercharging speeds on V4 SC

We all need more excuses to stop at Buc-ees for some of those cinnamon-roasted pecans.
  4. Cybertruck Ride Comfort on road trips (vs Model X / Y with air suspension)?

FWIW I have done this trip dozens of times in the Model 3 and Model S with FSD and more recently in the Rivian. The FSD ride is fantastic. It truly is. You can generally count on making on-ramp to off-ramp without intervention. You'll end up stopping at Buc-ees in Madisonville one way or another...
  5. PowerShare installed today

What does QMerit do again? Near as I can tell, they call someone in your area who knows how to do the actual work and asks them to come to your house and scope, estimate, and execute the work and then the actual worker sends the bill to QMerit so they can mark it up (a lot) and pass it along. Is...
  6. Why shouldn't I Cancel My CT order and purchase the Chevy EV?

I was just about to write the same. The RST has four wheel steer, supercruise with hands-free trailering, and lots of other stuff. The LT with a couple of relevant options will be the one to get on-road,I think. Hold tight two more months then drive one of everything and decide.
  7. Why does the WSJ hate Elon and Tesla? [⚠️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

LOL. Blackrock is a money manager. It does not "own" much of anything. It runs various investment funds where others put their money and own equity in these companies. You could make the same graphic with Vanguard, State Street, Fidelity, etc.
  8. Why does the WSJ hate Elon and Tesla? [⚠️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Ever since Rupert Murdoch bought the Journal. It increasingly focuses on click-bait angertainment just like his other news media properties: Fox News, New York Post, The Sun, etc. etc.
  9. GPS drifted way off and now thinks I’m 2 miles away

FWIW, same thing happened in 2018 with my model 3, turned out to be a faulty connector on the GPS antenna, fixed by mobile service.
  10. Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

That reporting was accurate. It did not say the vehicle was being cancelled. It said the vehicle was being deprioritized in favor of the robotaxi (which was true). Musk reversed himself after the stock got pulverized and reprioritized it. Kinda. Sorta. But actually let's talk about robotaxi...
  11. Almost Two Hours From 3 - 100 For First Time Charging At 250 KW SuperCharger Station.

I certainly hope so, it was a core promise of the CT: 800V 350kw charging. It won't ever really catch up to the Silverado because Tesla cheaped out on the battery size so Chevy can add 300 miles and still be in the middle of the charging curve all the way. CT only gets 220 miles or so between...
  12. Almost Two Hours From 3 - 100 For First Time Charging At 250 KW SuperCharger Station.

CT has a charging problem. It is slow, way slow. The Silverado can add 200 miles in 20 minutes and be on its way. The CT will take 40+ minutes to do the same (both starting at ~30 miles range left).
  13. Battery Pack Teardown Photos Reveals Empty Spaces (Sandy Munro Live)

I generally have great respect for your comments on here, but the equation is most certainly not "pay 2x as much for 2x range." The average price per kwh for a battery pack in an EV is under $130 per kwh. The pack cost of increasing the battery from 123 to 185 (50%) is 62 x $130 = $8,000...
  14. Battery Pack Teardown Photos Reveals Empty Spaces (Sandy Munro Live)

Sorry. but posts like this are just exasperating. Most of us here have been driving EVs for many years. I have #6 & 7 in the garage. We know with great precision how much range we need for where we drive with our type of loads in the sort of weather we experience on the routes we take. And, NO...
  15. Chevy Silverado EV RST functionality (tailgate, rear window, midgate, range, HUD) blows away Cybertruck

R1T is a Tacoma competitor playing into a 500k per year market in the US. If it can hit a 10% market share in the mid-sized market, it will increase its sales by 400% vs 2023 (~12k R1Ts) The full-sized truck market is 2.2 million in US so CT is playing into a domestic market that is 4X thee...
  16. Chevy Silverado EV RST functionality (tailgate, rear window, midgate, range, HUD) blows away Cybertruck

Tesla did the really stupid thing and short-changed the battery by 20 kwh. If they just bumped by 20 kwh they would have added a solid 50+ miles of range, handily beat most competitors and been close enough to the Chevy that is does not matter. The incremental pack cost is only $3k for 20 kwh...
  17. Chevy Silverado EV RST functionality (tailgate, rear window, midgate, range, HUD) blows away Cybertruck

Really nice. I have been invited to configure an RST first edition but only in black (srsly?). At this point I am sticking with the Rivian, but GM did exactly what it said fit would and then a bit. Tesla's multi-year distraction on a niche vehicle like CyberTruck is already costing it dearly in...
  18. Order Book Open on Silverado EV

So far my expert dealer has discerned: "GM has not officially released exact pricing ... it would come in the RS trim, or WT trim. Manager says there are limited color options ..." They are going to send me the build options (and, yes, I know this is for the RST, my dealer does not). n.b. one...
  19. Order Book Open on Silverado EV

So far I have learned that the dealer does not know what options, colors, etc. are available or what the price is. As usual, GM foiled by the incompetence of its dealer network.
