Tesla Roadster 2nd Gen Debuts on October 1, 2026! 🚀

Very expensive, high energy density cells.

Best way to clean the Tesla textile bed mat

Just give it to your cleaning wench and let she/her/he/him/they/them take care of it! ;) That's why I keep the bed bare except that I might throw a large scrap of corrugated carboard or a large scrap of foam sheet in there. Either can be pulled out past the tailgate to help unload things deep...

Zooming Dog Mode cabin camera view in App?

I'm not a social media expert, and I barely understand the way "X" actually works, but I would just respond to a post made by someone in the company that is relevant to your suggestion. There are a number of Tesla people on the platform.

Zooming Dog Mode cabin camera view in App?

That's a good idea. I suggest submitting a suggestion to Tesla on X.

[Update] FSD v14.2.2.4 Almost Hit a Girl Crossing Street (No it didn’t - Don’t rest your foot on accelerator)

Yes, but to be fair, the point is that NHTSA's insistence on unnecessary and unnatural "full NHTSA stop" is the initial trigger for unsafe human intervention caused by impatience. This is a temptation that smart FSD Supervised drivers need to resist. Had NHTSA not been insistent on sub-optimal...

Bilstein Cybershock: suspension upgrade for your Cybertruck - still fully height adjustable

I recommend not piggy-backing a "supplementary" damper to a system that is already actively controlled. That will just cause the existing damping to be reduced by the control algorithm.

Bilstein Cybershock: suspension upgrade for your Cybertruck - still fully height adjustable

It's probably not an upgrade at all. Both versions of the Cybertruck already come equipped with Bilstein semi-active dampers as standard, which provide variable on-the-fly damping through electronic control via solenoid valves that adjust compression and rebound valving in real time based on...

[Update] FSD v14.2.2.4 Almost Hit a Girl Crossing Street (No it didn’t - Don’t rest your foot on accelerator)

My wife just pointed out that NHTSA's insistence on coming to a complete and absolute stop before the legal stop line, even when it's awkward and completely unnecessary for safety reasons, can actually increase accidents by habituating FSD drivers to push on the accelerator pedal at...

[Update] FSD v14.2.2.4 Almost Hit a Girl Crossing Street (No it didn’t - Don’t rest your foot on accelerator)

So true. FSD has improved by leaps and bounds in the last 12 months. It's become so skillful that when the driver thinks FSD is messing up there is a better than 50% chance FSD sees a potential danger the human missed. This is so common that a human can actually create the dangerous situation...

FSD v14.2.2.4 (Update 2025.45.9) happening now

I haven't noticed any changes from the previous version. But it was already so good, it's just going to get harder and harder to see what new updates improve upon. It could have emergency accident avoidance improvements, something that simply doesn't happen often enough for the improvements to...

[Update] FSD v14.2.2.4 Almost Hit a Girl Crossing Street (No it didn’t - Don’t rest your foot on accelerator)

I doubt it would have hit her if you didn't kick FSD off. FSD can stop and change direction extremely quickly at those speeds. This is a big nothingburger without actual impact (which I doubt would have actually happened).

RIP: Model S and X production to end in Q2 2026!

My point was not where the manufacturing brain-power is redeployed, it was that S&X production requires talent to keep the operation humming, all for very little return. Freeing up those human resources for ANY other purpose that has more impact than trickling out some luxury priced EVs is a big...

RIP: Model S and X production to end in Q2 2026!

Certainly the freed up manufacturing space is valuable. But, more importantly, it takes a lot of top-notch brainpower to keep Model S and X production humming, those people's talents will be put to a higher purpose, a purpose that moves the needle of humanity further in a positive direction...

RIP: Model S and X production to end in Q2 2026!

I don't get your point. Why would Tesla differentiate between a soccer mom tards customer and everyone else? Wouldn't purchase availability be equal, regardless of sociopolitical leanings?

RIP: Model S and X production to end in Q2 2026!

That's a word/thought salad, but not a very logical one. What kind of analysis is that?? S&X haven't been significant to Tesla's bottom line for 5 or 6 years. It has nothing to do with driving up profits (beyond freeing up factory space for more productive initiatives).
